ハイチ地震が起きた当日から被災者のために支援活動を行っており、現在、全スタッフはレオガンとポルトープランスの郊外に滞在している。

とパートナーシップを結び、国家的大災害や政治的虐待に被害者たちへの対応を行っています。
その他、到達に困難な場所にも出向き、助けを求めることが出来ない被害者の救済にもあたっています。
 
HWHRと、Lakouニューヨークは今後も引き続きMUDHAと活動し、ハイチにいる兄弟姉妹のため団結した支援を提供します。
3グループは既にジャクメル、レオガン、プティ・ゴアーブ、グランド・ゴアーブ、マルティサンなどにある施設や児童養護施設を訪問しています。
 
先週の日曜にHWHRのボランティア5名が2週間の任務を終えてハイチから帰国しました。
その2日後、Lakouニューヨークからさらに5名のボランティアスタッフが、20個の特大バッグ（1/2トン＝450キロ以上）の寄付品と
車椅子と共にハイチに向かいました。プティ・ゴアーブにある救済配給所にてMUDHAのボランティアたちと合流し、
レオガンにある児童養護施設の廃墟近くに住む77人の子供たちのため2週間滞在し、救援しました。
 
レオガンの地元住民たちは毎日MUDHAの内科診療所で診察を受け、移動医療部隊が毎週マルティサンの町を訪れています。
さらに、その度ジャクメルに滞在しているキューバ医療団に物資を配達しています。
 
Lakouニューヨークのメンバーはハイチ地震の1ヵ月後の2月12日に行われたイベントで地元地域社会に貢献し、
亡くなった人々を追悼し、生存者たちは喜びを分かち合いました。
 
第1回目の旅では女性のためにジュエリーのワークショップを開き、彼女たちはこの治療的活動に引き込まれ、
寄付されたビーズ用品を使い自分たちのために美しいジュエリーを作り上げました。このような活動は零細企業に発展し、
女性と彼女たちの家族に経済的な面で効果をもたらすことが可能です。
 
ハイチではまだ学校は再開しておらず、HWHRのボランティアが子供たちにビジュアルアート、数学、
音楽やスポーツなどのワークショップを開き、その他にも集められた地元民によって子供たちへの様々な活動が運営されています。
文化アート団体Kongoのメンバーたちはハイチのフォークソングを歌うヒーリング音楽のワークショップを提供するなど、
彼らの精神を高め、地域社会活動を奨励しています。
 
HWHRのボランティアが運んだ車椅子は地震による怪我で両足を切断した10歳のローズが受けとりました。
寛大な寄付者はHWHRと協力し、彼女のアメリカでの手術とプロテーゼの調整のために旅行を手配しました。
適切な医療を受ける次のステップに進むと共に、ローズの両親に手を差し伸べ協力し合えることを望んでいます。
 
Ninaj Raul はHWHRの責任者。HWHRは、ニューヨーク・ブルックリンを本拠地とする民間非営利団体で、
現在はハイチのレオガンに拠点を置き、1月12日に起こった地震の被害者のための医療と栄養面での支援、
大きな団体などの手が届かないところを補足するため草の根レベルでの援助を行っている。
 
“今回は誰もが準備できなかった出来事のひとつです。私は現在児童擁護施設におりますが、完全に破壊されています。”
と電話インタビューでのNinajは言います。　”ここに手足を切断した少女が私のひざの上に座っていますが、
彼女のような人々から私たちは強さを教えられます。“　そして、”女性にワクチンを与え感染症を防ぐことは最優先されることです。
彼女たちは自分自身と家族を養っていけなくなっているからです。HWHRはアメリカから市販の薬と栄養バーを
スーツケースいっぱいに詰め、持ち込みました。“と語ってくれました。

Haitian Women for Haitian refugees a 501(c)3 organization,  have bee actively supporting the people of Haiti since day one of the earthquake. Their Head office is located in Brooklyn, New York.  At the moment all the staff are working in Leogane and at some of the worst hit areas outside of Port-au-Prince. This organization has been helping Haiti for 15 years now. The US Senator Kwame Raoul is also supporting this trusted organization

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries. Their headquaters are in Paris and New York.
 
 
 
Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees (http://haitianwomen.wordpress.com/) based in Brooklyn, New York home to thousand of Haitian-Americans. In partnership with two other organizations, have been responding to the needs of Haitians who have fell victim to national catastrophe or severe political mistreatment for over fifteen years. They are experience in traveling to difficult to reach areas to provide relief to helpless victims. Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees and Lakou New York are continuing to work with MUDHA to provide solidarity support to our brothers and sisters in Haiti. The three groups have gone to camps and orphanages in Jacmel, Leogane, Petit Goave, Grand Goave and Martissant. Last Sunday, 5 of our volunteers returned from Haiti after a two-week assignment. Two days later, we sent 5 more volunteers from Lakou New York with 20 oversized bags of donations (over ½ a ton), and a wheelchair. They joined MUDHA’s volunteers in aid distribution efforts in Petit Goave and worked for 2 weeks in Leyogàn, where 77 children are living near the ruins of their orphanage. Local residents have been coming to receive care at MUDHA’s daily medical clinic in Leyogàn. A mobile medical unit also makes weekly visits to Martissant. In addition, with each trip we have delivered supplies to the Cuban Medical Brigade in Jacmel. Members of Lakou New York helped to bring the local community together on February 12th (one month after the earthquake) in an event, to remember their loved ones, and celebrate the survivors. During our first trip, we began a jewelry workshop for women, which is ongoing. With donated beading supplies, women are engaging in a therapeutic activity and creating beautiful jewelry for themselves. This can potentially grow into a micro-enterprise that can benefit the women and their families financially. As school has not resumed in Haiti, our volunteers began to provide workshops for children in visual art, math, music and sports, and recruited local residents to continue to conduct some activities with the children. Members from the cultural arts organization, Kongo, provided healing music workshops where they sang Haitian folksongs to help lift their spirits and encourage communal efforts. Our volunteers brought a wheelchair for ten-year old Rose, who had both legs amputated to treat earthquake injuries. A generous donor is working with HWHR to arrange her trip to the US for surgery, and prosthetics-fitting. We hope to are reaching out to Rose’s parents to work together with them, as we take the next steps in getting appropriate medical care. "It's one of those situations no one could have been ready for," Ninaj told us in a telephone interview. "Right now I'm at this orphanage, and it's completely destroyed." "I have this girl sitting on my lap that had both of her legs amputated, and it's people like her that really give you strength," Ninaj told us. "Vaccinating women to protect them from infectious diseases is a priority, as is feeding women who are now unable to provide for themselves and their families. HWHR brought over-the-counter medicines and nutritional bars from the United States in overweight suitcases. HWHR will be and have continuously been doing admirable work on the ground in Haiti.
